Day Four

Today was very busy in the office as the next day was a bank holiday. In the morning i was running. Mostly I was dropping off parcels, shredding and getting food and drink for the office.
After Lunch I was asked to do Filing and Printing articles for one of Big Talks series. This was a press folder to record every bit of press. There was alot !
There was many errands to do as well as the filling, this is when it git really busy. It felt good though to be useful.
Alison sent me an email about another company wanting a intern. I sent my C.V to the company and am emailing back and forth.
When Sophie left we said our goodbyes and she said I had been one of the best runners, and was the only runner she knew that actually ran. I was delighted with this comment.
As people left I said goodbye and they asked when I would be back , so I replied hopefully soon!
After alot of people had left I put some chocolates, champagne and a card under Sophie’s desk for Big Talk, Mark spotted me though and told me I had to take it round to the other people in the office I was really embarrassed but he told some others in the office and they were all really thankful, and we had a drink and some chocolate.

Just before I did the interview with Tim. Mark filmed it as I asked Tim questions about his job now and how he got to where he is. It was a really nice way to finish the placement.
Tim told me to ring him next week to talk about work experience.
I really really enjoyed my time at Big Talk and want to come again.

Day Three

Today Tim had given me the opportunity of filming the castings for a series produced by Big talk. At 10 o’clock I was to go into their meeting room where it would take place. Mark helped me set up the camera and told me a few tips, as he had done this the previous day. I came into the room where I met the Director and casting team and made sure I shook their hands. I also met the main actor from the show they were casting for. It was so interesting seeing this all taking place. i got to listen to their opinions of each audition and hear them speaking about the project. I spoke up myself on occasion to give my opinion.

Children were auditioning as well, it was hilarious watching the younger ones as they were bouncing around the room.

After I did this I spoke to Alison who had given me the Script to review. Here was her feedback :
Script notes:
Logline good
Synopsis : a bit too long
Comments - dont say I , write it as fact. keep it flowing like it were a paragraph.

I told Tim that I didn't want to leave Big Talk and he siad he would look intoi getting me more work placement! I didn't expect that.

The rest of the day I was doing errands and posting parcels around London. It was so hot and I was running, I was absolutely worn out at the end of the day.

Day Two

I met Sophie today who I had initially been in contact with about the work placement. Today I did some errands around the office to help make the ‘Bigtalk’ office look more presentable.
As I had my Laptop today I , throughout other tasks, wrote my Script review and then sent it to Alison , in which she replied to see her tomorrow to go over a few points.

At Lunch I went to visit my sisters friend who worked round the corner at P for Production. I met the people she worked with, it was really great seeing another company. After speaking to them , she told me that they liked me and if in the future they needed a runner I would be the first they would call upon.

As I am working just behind front of house I can hear all that is going on in the reception. There was a casting going on and I got drinks for each of them as they waited in the reception. It was great as I saw faces that I recognised.

I did the daily post today and sent some recorded and some special. I had to make sure whenever I brought anything with petty cash , to keep receipts.

Day One

I was really excited about starting ‘Bigtalk’ productions, although I was quite nervous on the journey over. When I came in I met James, Production assistant, he was really welcoming and told me to wait for Tim. Once Tim arrived I was shown around the building and introduced to everyone. Everybody seemed really friendly.
Today I dropped of various packages around this area of London. It was really interesting to see the different companies and various offices that were involved with ‘Bigtalk’ , and that it was such a big company.
I also dropped off documents around the office and shredded old scripts and documents.

In the runners office I also met Mark who was a graduate and was a runner for Big talk for the next few months. It was really great to talk to him as this would be me in a year.

Tim who was my Senior/Head runner had told me if I ever didn't have any work to go up to Alison (Television Development Co-ordinator) and ask for a Script to read through. Half way through the day it was quite quiet so I went up to Alison and she asked me to write a script review after reading the script.
Between jobs I carried on reading the script, and tomorrow I will bring in my Computer to type up a review.

I met Simon Pegg briefly today and Nick Frost (who I got a coffee and Lunch) this was very exciting as I am a HUGE ‘spaced’ fan.
